How to install and use the auxiliary AppleScript?
Using Script Editor, save this AppleScript to the Library/Scripts folder inside your Home folder, and name it TranslateIt.scpt (or just download the script file).
Activate Script menu to quickly access installed scripts: Start AppleScript Utility located in the /Applications/AppleScript/ folder and check the Show Script menu in menu bar option, check the Enable GUI Scripting option also.
Select any word, e.g. on a web-page in Firefox, and start the TranslateIt script from the Script menu (which looks like a scroll) in the menu bar.
TranslateIt! will start (if it is not already started) and show possible translations of the selected word (the selected word will also be copied to the clipboard.)
Note: pressed keyboard keys (including modifier keys CMD, SHIFT, and OPTION) may prevent the script from working properly.
